Leaflets

Well we have some lovely new leaflets to promote the work of the trust and what we're trying to do in schools. These will be sent out to your churches in the next few weeks so watch out for them. Please do pass them on to others so that we can all be involved in this vital work.

I'm currently starting to write the Christmas presentation for primary schools so please pray that it gets done quickly and that schools book promptly whne the letter are sent out very soon.

Back to School

Don't the school holidays seem ages ago now? Well, they do to me! It's funny how time just flies once the schools are back and that is certainly the case at the minute.

There's lots to pray for though. The Secondary school Christian unions are just starting back and are now all called 'Generate'. Please pray for the church youthworkers who will be running these and pray for the pupils that they will want to go along and will get a lot out of it.

We've just done a week of assemblies at Stanley and will be launching a new CU group there very soon. There will also be one at Range as well, so it's great to have these new opportunities in schools.

Please pray for all these groups at Meols Cop, Birkdale, Greenbank, Formby, Range, and Stanley.

Summer Holidays

So we have finally reached the end of term!

Moving On was a great success with 1200 year 6 pupils seeing the presentation and receiving a copy of 'It's Your Move'. Thanks to the team, which was made up of church youthworkers, for their time, effort, and hard work.

There's still so much to pray for though over the school vacation before the young people return in September.

Please pray for the Christian Union groups in Secondary schools that they will support and encourage the Christian young people of our town. Pray especially for the new groups being set up in Range and Stanley High schools.

Please also pray for me that I will have a good holiday and will have time to rest. I am also going on mission to Ibiza at the end of August to reach out to the holidaymakers there, which will be a different challenge.

God has been very faithful to us this year. Pray that over the next 12 months we will see God's power at work even more as the future of the SASW Trust and the work we do will be decided.

Moving On Yr 6 Presentation

We are now two thirds of the way through our annual Moving On presentation for Year 6 about moving to secondary school. 22 schools have booked, which is a fantastic response. We are able to give out a book published by Scripture Union called, 'It's Your Move' to every child as gift. So far we have had a great time and have just a week left.

Please continue to pray for the team, the pupiils and and the staff as we go into schools next week.

There will be a prayer breakfast on Saturday 5th July, 8.30am at Christchurch. Hope to see you there.

New Christian Unions

Good news!
After positive meetings at Range and Stanley High, Christian Union groups will be starting in both schools from September.
Please keep all the other CU groups in your prayers: Formby High, Greenbank, Birkdale, Meols Cop and KGV. Pray for the Christian young people in those schools that they will able to live out their faith and show their peers God's love. Please also pray for myself and the local church youth workers who help run these groups on a weekly basis.

Moving preparation

Our next big primary schools presentation is fast approaching. Schools are now booking in for Moving On, our presentation to help Year 6 children with their transition to secondary schools.

Please pray for the preparation as I put together the team, sort the bookings and plan the content.

I will also be in Greenbank High school next week taking Year 9 RE lessons about how I live as a Christian and the girls can ask me any questions they like, which is always interesting.

It is becoming quite a busy time so please pray for everything to come together.

Support for Christian Staff

We'd like to support Christian staff in school and so are re-establishing the Schools Circle. This is a once termly meeting where we can meet, pray and discuss any issues about being a Christian in a school environment. It will also allow people to get to know each other. We will be launching this in September.

However, before then we need to build up a database of contacts so if you are a Christian working in education across Southport & Formby please email me your details. Please pray that this venture will be a blessing and encouragement to those working in schools.
